For a long time, now, there have been several complications about the imposition of stricter laws to safeguard foreign locals in India. This is now reaching new heights if we look at the fact that India has now taken a pretty strong decision against forcing foreigners for selfies in India.

Goa Police have decided to take strict action against people who force selfies or take photographs of foreign women without their consent. Officials have clearly stated that anyone engaging in such behaviour can be detained immediately. The move comes after repeated complaints from tourists who felt uncomfortable and harassed on some of Goa’s most popular beaches.

According to police authorities, several recent incidents involved domestic tourists clicking pictures of foreign visitors without permission, sometimes even insisting on selfies.

In one serious case, two tourists were booked after allegedly photographing a Russian woman without consent and behaving inappropriately. Such episodes have raised concerns about visitor safety and Goa’s image as an international tourist destination.

To prevent further problems, police presence has been increased across busy beaches such as Calangute, Baga, and nearby coastal stretches.

Officers have been instructed to act quickly if they notice anyone violating personal boundaries. Authorities are using preventive legal provisions that allow detention in situations where there is a risk of public disturbance.

Police officials are urging tourists to respect privacy and basic etiquette. A simple rule is being emphasized, always ask before taking a photo. The message is clear, enjoyment should never come at the cost of someone else’s comfort or dignity.
