No More Social Media Reels For Govt Employees? Good Or Bad?

Social media is one of the fastest growing platforms in India and everywhere across the global as well. People, these days are almost addicted to social media, and they cannot spend a day without browsing these platforms.

However, the central government is now contemplating a serious idea with regard to social media code of contact for the concerned employees.

The government is preparing to introduce a Social Media Code of Conduct. These rules will apply to government officials, as the trend of posting personal reels, videos, stories, and opinions among them is on the rise.

The craze for social media is growing so much that officials are spending hours watching reels during duty and sharing them. Keeping this in mind, the government is preparing to bring a Social Media Code of conduct.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed senior bureaucrats to consider the possibility of introducing this code.

The proposal for a social media code for officials is also important because in many cases, officials glorify their work and position through social media posts, even though no government employee should engage in such conduct.

It has become common for government employees to indulge in such activities where they are browsing social media platforms for our together on duties. This is to be stopped at any cost as the government is said to be cracking down on the same.

On top of that, it is being reported that government applies could also be restricted from using social platforms to glorify their work and places of employment. This would be a big decision by the government of India.
