Despite $100K Fee, How Many Indians Took H1B Visas

It is already known that the H1B visa that is provided by the United States is anticipated with close attention by the Indian community as it provides permit for the immigration population.

However, the Donald Trump administration has taken a pretty significant step regarding the same by imposing $100,000 fee on the processing of this visa. But this did not stop the immigration population to go after the H1B Visa.

More than 2 Lakh applicants opted to pay USD 100,000 for their H-1B visas to work in the US in the fiscal year 2026, Markwayne Mullin, Secretary, Department of Homeland Security said.

He said applicants paying USD 100,000 get their papers processed in about 15 days and it takes about 7.5 months to process other applications and this is a streamlined process these days.

The fact that more than two lakh Indian applicants were able to secure the United States visa, despite the existing hundred thousand dollar fee as an indication that people are not bothered about the massive pay structure.

The primary aim of the Indian immigration population in the United States is to somehow get the H1B visa and they appear to be fully committed to the same.
