A recent study by the Manhattan Institute found that Indian immigrants are the most economically beneficial major immigrant group in the United States. According to the report, each Indian immigrant and their descendants are projected to reduce the US national debt by around 1.7 million dollars over 30 years.

The study highlights that highly skilled Indian professionals, particularly H1B visa holders, play a major role in boosting the US economy. Each H1B worker reportedly increases GDP by nearly 500,000 dollars while reducing federal debt by about 2.3 million dollars during the same period.

The research also warns that restricting skilled immigration programs like H1B could increase the US debt by 185 billion dollars over 10 years and nearly 4 trillion dollars over 30 years. Over 70 percent of H1B approvals in 2024 went to Indian nationals, reflecting their dominance in the American tech workforce.

Experts say Indian immigrants contribute positively due to their high education levels, strong tax contributions, and low dependency on welfare programs.

The study concludes that employment-based immigration, driven by Indians, offers significant fiscal and economic advantages, making it crucial for the United States to sustain such skilled immigration policies.

But still, president Trump is determined to crack down on the Indian migrants and the reasons are best known to him.
