Three assembly constituencies in the south coastal Andhra have remained tough nuts to crack for YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The three constituencies – Addanki, Chirala and Paruchuru – have returned TDP candidates even in the YSRCP tsunami. Even now, the situation remains pretty much the same in these three constituencies.

In fact, Jagan gave Chirala ticket to Amanchi Krishnamohan in the 2019 elections despite knowing about the massive anti-incumbency against him. Amanchi lost the elections and TDP's Karanam Balaram emerged victorious. Later, Karanam joined the YSRCP and his son Venkatesh has been made the party incharge for Chirala.

As a result, Amanchi was given the task of winning Paruchuru. However, YSRCP's Ravi Ramanatham wants to contest from there. He has assiduously built a support base for himself in the constituency. As a result, Amanchi will find the going tough in Paruchuru if Ramanatham rebels and files his papers as an independent.

In Addanki assembly constituency, Gottipati Ravikumar of the TDP is going strong. The YSRCP is unable to find a suitable candidate to take on Ravikumar. Thus, the constituency is almost in the lap of the TDP. If immediate corrective measures are not taken, then this constituency too would go the TDP way. It remains to be seen how Jagan will reclaim these constituencies.
