Many images showing the Hollywood sign engulfed in flames have been widely shared on Facebook. "For all the evil within Hollywood, this is a sign from God!" said a post. Another post read, "The fire is reaching the Hollywood Sign. Please take care guys." Some people says that since they claim that is a Godless town in Golden Globes, the God did the right thing with this.
We have come to know that this is a fake propaganda though. Reuters' fact-checking team confirmed that the landmark remains untouched, as verified by eyewitness accounts.
The wildfires near Los Angeles reached the Hollywood Hills on January 8, leading the L.A. Fire Department to issue evacuation orders. However, the fire closest to the Hollywood sign, referred to as the Sunset Fire, was fully contained by midday on January 9.
