It's been a few days since the new government took charge in Andhra Pradesh. The Cabinet Ministers were allocated their respective portfolios and chambers. The Ministers are busy taking charge and holding meetings with the concerned officials. Now a Minister raised many eyeballs with his strong allegations.
Kolusu Parthasarathy, Minister of Housing, I&PR made sensational comments while addressing the media. He alleged that funds worth Rs 3,070 cr were diverted which was supposed to be used for the construction works. He said that there are a few irregularities in the Housing Program in the YCP government.
“Between 2019-2024 20.6 lakh houses were sanctioned by the Centre. The previous government which spoke a lot about providing houses to the poor had managed to complete just 6.8 lakh houses. The remaining 13.8 lakh houses remain incomplete. 5.5 lakh houses out of them are yet to be started. The Chandrababu Naidu government started TIDCO houses by acquiring houses, while the previous government had layouts in areas which are not advisable for living,” the Minister said.
The Minister went on to say that despite having the chance to provide houses to the poor with the support of the Union Government, the previous government did not work on this and the funds were diverted.
He even said that bills were also not paid worth Rs 945 cr. Talking about the Jagananna Colonies which the YCP flaunted proudly in the last term, the Minister said that there is no share of the state’s funds in this and only the Centre funds were used.
