The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium was built for the tournament. Its first major match will be today’s warm-up match between India and Bangladesh. The stadium will also host some of the highly intense matches in the tournament.
The stadium is getting all the attention as it will host the high-intensity India-Pakistan match on the 9th of this month. The craze for the match was such that the tickets were sold like hotcakes. It is said that the costliest ticket of the match is around Rs 45 lakh while the entry-level ticket is over Rs 1 lakh.
Talking about the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium it took just three months for the construction. The organisers spent as much as Rs 250 cr for this. Using the latest technology came in handy which helped in the fast construction of the stadium. Drop-in pitch was used for the stadium which can host 34,000 fans at a time.
The stadium will give a hint at the experience it will give for the matches with the warm-up matches. Ahead of the warm-up match, Rohit Sharma and Najmul Hossain Shanto, skippers of India and Bangladesh visited the stadium to have a look at it.
