It is already known that the Hyderabad assembly constituency is going for by election after the sad passing of Mahanti Gopinath. This is going to be one of the crucial assembly campaigns for the leading political parties in Telangana as they will have to fight for their existence.

A recent public opinion survey compared Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and former CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) on governance, development, and welfare. Results show KCR leading with 55.68% support, while Revanth Reddy scored 28.40%. About 15.91% had no opinion or chose others.

When asked about their preferred candidate for the upcoming Narsapur by-election, Maganti Sunita Reddy gained the highest support with 46.60%. She was followed by Congress’s Azharuddin at 22.72%, Naveen Yadav at 15.90%, and Deepak Reddy at 4.54%. Others or undecided voters made up 12.5%.

In municipal areas, party preference showed BRS leading strongly with 65.90%, Congress at 17.04%, BJP at 3.40%, and others at 13.65%.

For state-level leadership, KCR again led with 56.81%, Revanth Reddy had 31.81%, and other leaders such as Bandis and Etela Rajender received under 5% each.

In terms of overall party preference across Telangana, Congress led with 44.91%, followed by BRS at 37.33%, BJP at 13.02%, and other parties below 1%. This is surprising to note because the bear is candidate individually has more acceptance, but the Congress party is ahead when it comes to clear favourite.

But at the same time, the analysis notes suggest that Azharudding and Naveen Yadav splitting the Congress vote may help Sunita Reddy. BRS’s strong presence in municipalities gives them an advantage. Congress is focusing on organizational strength, large rallies, and door-to-door campaigning, while BRS relies on KCR’s popularity and established networks. The survey indicates a close contest, with BRS dominant locally.
