In under hundred hours from now, the world will be welcoming New Year 2026, and this stage is being set for the celebration activities across the globe. Similar scenario is being observed in Hyderabad as the city prepares for bashing New Year celebration.

Hyderabad Police have stepped up security and enforcement measures ahead of New Year celebrations, announcing a strict Zero Drugs policy across the city. City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar said special forces have been deployed to ensure celebrations remain safe, disciplined, and drug free, with a strong focus on prevention rather than reaction.

All pubs, hotels, restaurants, and party venues will be placed under special surveillance during the New Year period. Private parties being hosted at service apartments, hostels, and other closed venues will also be monitored closely.

As part of the regulations, all pubs and restaurants have been instructed to shut operations by 1:00 AM without exception. Authorities warned that any violations of these rules would invite strict action, including cancellation of licenses and legal proceedings.

Police have also intensified monitoring of individuals with past records related to drug peddling and consumption. Known offenders are already on the radar, and surprise checks will be conducted to prevent any illegal activities. To manage the expected surge of revelers, security arrangements will be strengthened at key locations across the city.

Check posts and barricades will be heavily reinforced at major hubs such as Maitrivanam, Necklace Road, Tank Bund, and KBR Park. The police have urged citizens to cooperate with enforcement teams and celebrate responsibly, emphasizing that public safety remains the top priority during New Year festivities.
