What Now! Donald Trump Road In Hyderabad!

The Revanth Reddy government in Telangana has been taking several interesting decisions with regard to public policy making, and we have an interesting update in this regard now.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced a new road naming initiative aimed at strengthening Hyderabad’s position as a global innovation and business hub.

As part of this move, a newly planned 100 metre wide greenfield radial road connecting the Outer Ring Road and the upcoming Regional Ring Road will be named after legendary industrialist Ratan Tata. In addition, the Raviryala interchange on this route has already been officially designated as the Tata Interchange, marking a tribute to his lasting contribution to Indian industry and global enterprise.

In a decision drawing international attention, the road alongside the US Consulate General in Hyderabad will be named Donald Trump Avenue. Officials note that this could be the first instance anywhere in the world where a road is named after Donald Trump. The Telangana government will formally communicate this decision to the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy.

The initiative follows the Chief Minister’s proposal at the US India Strategic and Partnership Forum conclave, where he suggested naming prominent Hyderabad roads after global corporations to reflect the city’s international outlook.

As part of this plan, a major stretch near the upcoming Google campus in the Financial District will be named Google Street. Proposals to name junctions and roads as Wipro Junction and Microsoft Road are also under active consideration.
