People impersonating themselves as big officials to get their work done or enjoy benefits is what we see in movies. In many films, we have seen such scenes as fraudsters taking the route to cheat people. While no one knows whether he was inspired by such scenes a person painted himself as an Income Tax officer.

This happened in Andhra Pradesh. A person impersonated himself as an IT official and tried to trick the staff at the famous Durga temple in Vijayawada. But his scam got exposed with the officials developing doubts on him and arresting him.

Going into details a person was visiting the Durga temple frequently saying that he is an Income Tax official. The temple authorities found that he had been visiting the temple regularly. He even had ID cards in the name of Income Tax Joint Commissioner V. Srinivas and Anand. He had visiting cards as well.

It is said that the accused had misbehaved with the temple staff. This raised doubts about his identity. When asked about the ID cards he showed two cards on different occasions adding fuel to their doubts. While he was misbehaving with the staff, the cops deployed at the temple were called in.

They asked him about his identity and he is said to have given a contrasting response. With this, the temple authorities spoke to the Income Tax officers and asked if there were any officials in the name of Anand and Srinivas.

They faced shock after knowing that the accused had been cheating everyone in the name of fake names. He was arrested and sent to custody. The cops are questioning him and more details are awaited.
