India-Canada Issues To Affect Students?

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made harsh allegations that Indian agents might be behind Hardeep Singh Nijjar's death. Not only that, the Indian diplomat in Canada was also sacked. India, which was not happy with this, removed the Canadian diplomat and gave a staring response.
This resulted in the ties between the two nations falling in danger. Observers say that this would affect the commerce and education sectors. Canada is among the top preferred nations of Indian students for higher studies. Canada is close to the US and has many world-class Universities, good employment opportunities, and ease of getting Canadian citizenship resulting in students preferring Canada.
Right now there are 3.19 lakh students in Canada. Canada has the second-highest Indian student population after the US. India and Canada have strong ties in education. Around 200 Universities have a mutual understanding of this. Indian students account for the major share of international students who land in Canada.
The Canadian economy gets a big Foreign exchange due to Indian students. As per the Canadian Bureau for International Education, as much as 4.9 billion dollars(around 40,000 crores) reached the economy in 2021.
The trade relations are also good. The bilateral ties between India and Canada increased and reached 8.16 billion dollars by 2022-23. India exports pharma products, gems, jewelry, Textiles, and tools to Canada. The worth of the exports is 4.1 billion dollars. Canada imports Pulses, wood, paper, and mining products from India.
Canada's investments in India are also high. Canada invested in infrastructure, renewable energy, technology, and financial services sectors. As per the estimations, Canada invested around 45 billion dollars as of 2022. India is fourth in terms of attracting investments from Canada.
As per the trade issues impact the financial ties between the ties, observers say that there is a chance of the area getting affected.
