Historic: India's Medal Count In Asian Games Reach 105!

The Indian athletes entered the 2023 editions of the Asian Games with a lot of expectations. There is another reason for cricket fans to pin high hopes as the Indian team is participating in the Asian games for the first time. The team did not disappoint the fans as they met the expectations.

The Indian Men's team won the historic gold at the prestigious event. India reached the finals by crushing the Bangladesh team. In the finals, India and Afghanistan locked horns and India won the Gold. Despite rain washing the game, India was announced the winner. Afghanistan could not finish its quota due to rain.

As India is the top-seeded, the Indian team was declared the winner and was awarded the gold. In the debut season, India won the Gold. India did not play the 2010 and 2014 editions of the Asian Games. It is known that earlier, the Women's team won the Gold.

Looking at the overall medal count in the Asian Games, India pulled off the best performance as it won 105 medals. Earlier today, India's count was 100 and now the count went to 105.

In badminton, India won Gold in mixed doubles with Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy defeating the opponents. In Hockey, India won Bronze by crushing Japan. In the Wrestling department, Deepak Punia won a silver in 86kg men's freestyle. Men and Women athletes won Silver in Chess.

India's medal count is 105 including Gold: 28 Silver: 36 and Bronze: 41. This is the best performance of India in any Asian Games and India is at the fourth spot in the number of medals won by the nations.
