It is already known that Indian passport is one of the highest secure documents in the country, and it is a crucial travel documentary that allows Indian citizens to travel abroad. But now something extremely unexpected is happening with regard to the credibility of the Indian passport.

According to earlier reports, there is this Bombay High court ruling that specifically said Passport and Birth proof are not enough to claim Indian citizenship. This was a ruling when 4 illegal migrants had entered into India and the order was delivered by Justice K U Chandiwal.

He explicitly stated that Passport, Aadhaar card or a birth certificate were not sufficient for those illegal migrants to establish Indian citizenship and that under the law it was necessary for them to prove that their parents were Indian nationals.

In this case, the High Court upheld a trial court's order sentencing three individuals to six months jail term for illegally entering India.

Technically speaking in order to prove that you are an Indian one needs a combination of multiple documents, and it's a fact. It might sound strange to hear, but this is the fact and it turns out that there are multiple required documents to prove Indian citizenship.

This passport is essentially serving as a medium for the Indian citizens to travel abroad for visiting or education purpose, but it does not definitely confirm the proof of citizenship. This would require additional documentation regarding their parents as well.
