H1B Slow Down: Indians Dropped 90% In USA?
For a long time now, the Indian population has been one of the major contributing factors to the United States in terms of talent pool.
For a long time now, the Indian population has been one of the major contributing factors to the United States in terms of talent pool. This is largely due to the higher pay that is offered in the United States that had been attracting the Indian employees.
However, things have been changing drastically since the return of Donald Trump administration in the United States as things are not starting to look positive.
We have arrived at a point where the Trump administration has started to restrict a significant portion of the Indian population and that is reflecting in the numbers now.
The latest developments are suggesting that the volume of the Indian population that has been applying for the H1B visa has gone down by more than 90% in the recent past. These numbers have been in line with the last couple of years trends.
To put that into perspective, companies like Infosys and TCS have dropped employment of Indian employees in the United States by more than 90%.
This is largely due to the H1B fee that has been imposed by the Donald Trump administration, which is costing more than $100,000 to hire a single foreign employee.
Infosys H-1B registrations have fallen from 8,886 to 759 while TCS fell from 5,955 to 284. If this is going to be the case with the H1B population in the United States, then we can expect a complete fallout in the numbers starting very soon.
Donald Trump and his team has been very particular against the incorporation of foreign workforce in the United States and that’s reflecting in the companies policy now.
