The Indian IT sector had been facing an extremely challenging period for the last couple of years with extreme layoffs being recorded all over the country. Now matters are turning worse and there’s a strong reason behind the same as well.

The complex situation in the United States due to the Donald Trump administration has created a peculiar situation and that has resulted in many Indians returning back to the country.

There’s this strong wave of H1B workers getting back to India as they’re unable to face the immigration rules and related immigration restrictions in the U.S. So, they’re heading back to India now.

Subsequently, the already tight Indian IT market has started to take a beating with the number of job openings hitting an all time low of just 93,000 this month. This is the least number of jobs open for filling in India in the last 28 months.

The fact that the number of job openings have been going down consistently and they have reached the worst possible numbers in the last couple of years as an education of the prevailing market.

To make matters even worse, the H1B returning population is making the job market even tighter with a different talent entering the market. This is not going to have a positive effect on the Indian IT sector and sadly so as well.

At a time when the domestic IT population themselves are in such of jobs, it is strange to see the the H1- B population that has been returning from US to India is also going for the jobs. This job market is likely to get even tougher in the days to follow now.
