It is being established that an Indian origin individual has been sentenced to 90 months in prison by a federal Judge for committing a fraud activity.

A district judge sentenced an Indian national named Lignesh Kumar to 90 months in federal prison for his involvement in an imposter scheme to defraud 11 identified victims, including elderly residents from Edwardsville and Effingham, Illinois, and St. Louis, Missouri.

Ligneshkumar H. Patel, 38, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and financial institution fraud and two counts of wire fraud. The judge ordered him to pay more than $2 million in fines.

This Indian origin individual will now have to serve jail term for 90 months, and he will also have to pay around $2.3 million in fines for the fraud he committed. He is going to face the legal consequences for his actions now, and they are going to be pretty significant as well.

This is another new addition to the long list of such fraud activities committed by the Indian individuals in the United States. Another point that must be noted is that the United States has been going particularly hard against such people these days.
