It is already known that the United States immigration authorities have started to reprimand the working population. In the meanwhile, the Trump administration has started to cut down on the H1B Visa prospect as well.

H1B visa delays in the United States are leaving thousands of Indian tech professionals stranded in India, creating uncertainty around careers and finances. A recent case has now gone viral after one such techie shared a surprisingly positive perspective amid the crisis.

The professional, stuck in India while waiting for a visa stamping appointment, calculated his savings to understand how long he could sustain himself without returning to the US.

With around 120,000 dollars in savings, he compared his monthly expenses in both countries. While his US lifestyle costs nearly 1950 dollars in rent alone, he estimated that living in Bengaluru would cost him around 1 lakh rupees per month.

Based on this calculation, he realised he could manage expenses in both countries for a few months and, once his US commitments end, survive in India for nearly nine years without any income.

This comes at a time when H1B visa appointments across India are facing massive backlogs, with many interview dates pushed as far as 2027 due to increased scrutiny and limited processing capacity.

While the situation continues to create anxiety among professionals, this techie’s financial breakdown has offered a rare sense of reassurance.

It highlights how years of earnings in the US, combined with India’s relatively lower cost of living, can provide a temporary safety net during an otherwise stressful phase.
