Indian Beaten To Death In US, Hate Crime Suspended!

In an unfortunate trend, hate crimes are on the rise in the United States. America has the brand image of the land of opportunities and people from various ethnicities live there and we can see them in various fields. Despite this, the crimes are increasing.

Compared to others, Indian-origin people often become prey for such incidents as per the stats. It is said that another hate crime was reported in the United States where a 68-year-old Indian was killed and objectionable comments were aimed at him.

Going into details, Indian-origin man Jasmer Singh who has been living in the US for some time was reportedly beaten to death in New York. When his car hit another vehicle, a person in the vehicle identified as 30-year-old Gilbert Augustin hit him brutally.

It is said that after the mishap, an argument broke out between the two and the accused took Singh’s phone. Singh had managed to get his phone back. However, he could not stop the accused from launching an intense attack on him.

He was taken to the nearby hospital for treatment and he breathed his last undergoing treatment. Reports say that the accused used objectionable comments at Singh based on his costume and Turban.

So the doubt of a possible hate crime was started among the people. His family which is mourning his death said that it is a hate crime case and the accused should be slapped with hate crime charges for what he did.

Accused 30-year-old Gilbert Augustin was arrested by the cops and a few charges were slapped at him. He is expected to be produced before the court soon.

After the news broke out, wishes poured in for the victim and the family. People are also expressing concerns over what had happened to the victim in a possible hate crime
