The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is gearing up for its 'mini auction' in Dubai on December 19, where a whopping 333 players will be up for grabs. These players will compete for 77 slots across the league's ten teams, with 30 spots reserved for international talents.
The franchises collectively have a substantial purse of Rs 262.95 crore to spend on recruiting players to complete their teams, marking one of the most significant combined budgets for a 'mini auction' in the league's history.
Among the listed players, 214 are Indian, 119 are from overseas, and the remaining two hail from associate countries. Additionally, 116 players hold international caps, while 215 are yet to represent their country at the highest level.
The teams have a total of 70 slots available, with 30 set aside for foreign players. Kolkata Knight Riders, two-time IPL champions, face the task of filling 12 slots, while 2022's victors, Gujarat Titans, enter the auction wielding the most substantial purse at 38.15 crore.
The auction promises an exciting opportunity for teams to bolster their squads with a diverse pool of talent, as they aim to construct competitive line-ups for the upcoming IPL season.
