He alleged that Indian agents might be behind the killing. A war of words happened from both sides. India also stopped Visa services to Canada.
In what could be a significant development India is said to have resumed e-visa services to Canadian nationals. Media reports say the same while there is no official confirmation on this.

Earlier in September India said it is suspending the Visa services to Canada. After the Prime Minister made the shocking allegations that Indian agents might be behind the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Around two months after suspending the visa applications India is said to have resumed the e-visa services. While the official announcement is yet to be made it is being said that the services were resumed.
The diplomatic ties between India and Canada were impacted to the point that both nations removed the diplomats of the other nations. Despite having a long-standing friendship both nations saw the ties getting worse.
As if that was not enough, the Centre asked a few Canadian diplomats to leave the country and set a deadline for this. India warned the diplomats that if they didn't leave the country they would lose their immunity.
