Dr. Ajay Murdia who founded the leading IVF centre in the country Indira IVF created a sensation with his observations on the infertility issues that would trouble the country in the future.
Ajay Murdia said that India might face the brunt of an unprecedented infertility crisis involving millions of people. He also said that this might affect the demographic balance of the country.
Talking about the numbers he said that as per the estimation as many as 27.5 million married couples are suffering from infertility issues. He said that the crisis is gradually increasing gradually and couples are facing issues.
Highlighting the seriousness of the issue he said that the youth population would come down due to infertility issues and the elderly population would be increased and might see a growth of around two folds.
Citing the reasons for this he said that changing lifestyle and hormonal issues should be blamed for this. Giving inputs in dealing with the possible crisis the IVF founder said that the government should work on this and take active steps in setting up the IVF centres in the rural areas.
