Infosys Limited's decision to enlarge its IT campus in Pocharam, Hyderabad, is a major step forward in reinforcing Telangana's status as a leading IT hub. This development is anticipated to generate 17,000 new jobs, marking a significant leap in the technology sector's growth within the state. The project, which was unveiled at the World Economic Forum in Davos, is the result of discussions between Infosys CFO, Mr. Jayesh Sanghrajka, and Telangana's IT and Industries Minister, Shri D Sridhar Babu. This expansion underscores the robust partnership between the Telangana government and Infosys, a key player in India's IT landscape.

The new IT buildings, set to be constructed in phases, represent an initial investment of ₹750 crores. The first phase aims to house 10,000 individuals and is expected to be completed within the next two to three years. Currently, Infosys's Pocharam campus is one of its largest in India, employing over 35,000 professionals. This expansion is poised to significantly boost the IT ecosystem in Telangana, further enhancing its allure as a prime IT destination nationwide.

"Our partnership with the Government of Telangana reflects our shared vision of driving innovation, empowering communities, and strengthening the IT landscape," Infosys CFO, Mr. Jayesh Sanghrajka, remarked, highlighting the collaborative spirit fueling this expansion. On the other hand, Telangana's IT and Industries Minister, Shri D Sridhar Babu, emphasized the government's dedication to fostering strategic alliances to spur economic growth. "The Government of Telangana remains dedicated to nurturing talent, creating opportunities, and fostering strategic partnerships to propel the state's economy forward," he stated.

By adding 17,000 jobs, Infosys not only aims to create numerous employment opportunities but also intends to make a substantial contribution to the state's booming IT sector. This move aligns with Telangana's proactive efforts to encourage the growth of the technology sector, driving innovation and sustainable development in the future. Through this expansion, Infosys and the Telangana government are setting a precedent for how strategic collaborations can lead to mutual growth and the advancement of the IT sector at large.
