ISRO Successfully Launches INSAT-3DS, What’s Its Speciality?
India landed its vehicle on the unexplored region of the Moon.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is having a gold run. The space agency has already finished the lunar mission. India landed its vehicle on the unexplored region of the Moon. India’s Solar project was also launched. Aditya-L1 was successfully placed in the orbit earlier last month.
Now the space agency launched another satellite. INSAT-3DS, which marks India’s 16th meteorological satellite was successfully launched. The launch aims to improve the authenticity of weather forecasting and give accurate natural disaster warnings.
The satellite is nicknamed Naughty Boy. The specialty of the satellite is that it is an INSAT-3DS meteorological satellite. It was launched for better monitoring of land and ocean surfaces. Natural disasters are the main concern for mankind.
To have a better meteorological observation to provide weather forecasting and disaster warning the satellite was launched. Besides this, the satellite also aims to offer Satellite Aided Search and Rescue Services.
Through the satellite, ISRO wants to monitor the earth's surface and have a look at the meteorological issues. After collecting the data the satellite transfers the data to the centre. With the help of Data Relay Transponder (DRT) it gathers information from the Automatic Weather Stations.
The SAS&R transponder will play a vital role in the satellite. If the transponder detects any distress signal then it transmits the same and gives an alert signal.
It has been a tradition to offer prayers to god before any launch. The same was followed with ISRO Chairman S. Somanath and a few other officials participating in a special pooja and offering prayers.
