Not Amaravati, But Jagan Wants MAVIGUN as AP Capital?

It is already known that the Indian Parliament has approved the resolution to nominate Amaravati has the official capital of Andhra Pradesh. This happened at unanimous capacity with almost all the major parties in the Parliament approving the same.
However, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy proposed an alternative capital corridor model linking Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur along the existing highway stretch of about 110 kilometers.
He explained that the road connectivity between these three cities is already in place, with roughly 70 kilometers between Machilipatnam and Vijayawada and another 40 kilometers from Vijayawada to Guntur. By declaring both sides of this highway as a Capital Corridor, he argued that the region could naturally evolve into a powerful growth engine for the state.
According to him, this practical idea was not accepted by Chandrababu Naidu. He added that even as a Plan B, the proposal did not receive consideration.
Jagan suggested a concept name by combining the first syllables of the three cities: MA from Machilipatnam, VI from Vijayawada, and GUN from Guntur, calling it “MAVIGUN.” He proposed that this entire belt be declared as a capital area to promote distributed development instead of concentrating investments in a single location.
He further stated that even if just 10 percent of the planned two lakh crore rupees earmarked for Amaravati were redirected to this corridor, it would be sufficient to trigger rapid and balanced regional growth. It has to be seen if this interesting suggestion for the capital of Andhra Pradesh would be approved in the future.
