YS Jagan Targeted Again? Is It Due To Cockroach Movement?
For the better part of the last 10 years, Jagan was in good relations with the central NDA government, which could have prompted little action against him regarding these pending cases.
It is already known that the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy was in the radar of the enforcement directorate and the central bureau of investigation regarding the pending cases. Multiple disproportionate assets cases were filed against him and they have been in the court of law for more than a decade.
But the point of difference has been with the fact that Jagan had not been facing any legal consequences with regard to this set of cases for the last 10 years. He was arrested and released during the earlier Congress regime and that’s about it.
For the better part of the last 10 years, Jagan was in good relations with the central NDA government, which could have prompted little action against him regarding these pending cases.
However, Jagan had been rationally, opening his opinions against the India government regarding the central election commissioner and also the recent cockroach party movement.
Jagan had publicly said he regrets, approving the idea of appointment of new central election commission commissioner and gave the implication that this could be the reason why his party lost the 2024 election as well. He went to indicate that he might even be supporting the cockroach movement in this direction.
All of this has generated a significant political turbulence against Jagan now as the pending cases have started to come back at him.
Enforcement directorate has started to open up the pending cases against Jagan on a daily basis at Telangana High Court. This has immediately led to commentary that Jagan could be coming up under the radar of the central bosses again for voicing of opinion against their operations.
