Won't Send A Right Message: Jaishankar's Comments On Canada!
One thing is evident over the past few years after the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power at the Centre
One thing is evident over the past few years after the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power at the Centre. India has been improving diplomatic ties with other nations. This is proving to be beneficial to India in many ways. As an example of this, recently Qatar released eight former Indian Navy officers who were sent to jail on espionage charges.
At a time when India has been improving diplomatic ties, Canada-India ties were put on question. However, the row was started by Canada. Justin Trudeau, Canadian Prime Minister made sensational allegations and alleged the Indian agents' role behind the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Since then the ties between India and Canada have been deteriorating at regular intervals. Amid this Indian external affairs minister S Jaishankar made some crucial comments. He gave a strong response to India suspending the issuance of visas in Canada.
It has to be mentioned here that earlier a temporary suspension was imposed on granting visas to Canadians. This came as a big surprise to one and all. After the Canadian PM made big allegations India responded with the suspension.
The cabinet Minister made big comments and raised a big demand. He said that threats and intimidation towards the Indian diplomats is not a small thing and needs a big action. On the occasion, he also expressed great dissatisfaction with the attack on the high commission in London and the diplomats facing threats.
Jai Shankar said that India is expecting a favorable response from Canada on the attack and the local government not helping sends a wrong message.
