Jana Sena keeps T TDP utterly confused: Friend in AP but foe in Telagnana?
But the big problem is there is no alliance or even electoral understanding with the Jana Sena. The Pawan Kalyan-led party is in alliance with the BJP and will contest in some key constituencies.
Which is the most confused party in Telangana now? No marks for guessing. It is none other than the TDP. Well! It’s a no brainer that the TDP is not even a player in the Telangana assembly elections. But the party is all set to contest in the elections. If the party’s state unit chief Kasani Gyaneshwar is to be believed, the party will show its strength in the upcoming elections.
But the big problem is there is no alliance or even electoral understanding with the Jana Sena. The Pawan Kalyan-led party is in alliance with the BJP and will contest in some key constituencies. This means, the Jana Sena is in alliance with the TDP in Andhra Pradesh and with the BJP in Telangana.
This decision of the Jana Sena is likely to cast its shadow on the Jana Sena-TDP alliance in Andhra Pradesh, where the TDP has high stakes. The TDP needs an alliance with the Jana Sena and the BJP if it wants to dent Jagan’s winning chances. As of now, the BJP is non-committal on the issue of alliance.
More problematic for the TDP is the fact that Chandrababu Naidu is in jail and there is no one to guide and support the Telangana unit. The party’s Telangana unit will have to be completely on its own. But, Gnaneshwar is putting on a brave front. He says he would campaign across Telangana for the victory of the party.
