Not every BJP worker is happy with Jaya Sudha's joining
She has announced that she would contest from Secunderabad constituency which she had represented in the past
Film actress Jayasudha's joining has stirred a hornet's nest in the BJP. She has announced that she would contest from Secunderabad constituency, which she had represented in the past. But, it appears not many in the party's rank and file are happy with her joining. The reception from them is at best lukewarm.
The main argument against Jaya Sudha is that she changes parties too often and thus has lost credibility. Even her earlier stint as an MLA was lacklustre, they argue. They said that Jana Sudha is known divide her time between films, missionary activity and politics and thus would not be able to work as a full-time politician.
More importantly, many in the BJP are unhappy that Jana Sudha is known to wear her religious identity on her sleeve. She has spoken openly in many evangelist meets. Even while joining the BJP, she has said that she would work to protect the interests of the Christians. This has left many BJP leaders sulking.
Jaya Sudha joined the BJP on Wednesday in the presence of state incharge Tarun Chugh, state party president and minister G Kishan Reddy and former minister DK Aruna. Jaya Sudha began her political career in the TDP and then shifted to the Congress. For the past few years, she has not been active in politics.
