Jay Shah is the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, which is the richest cricket board in the World. He has been serving in the position since 2019. In addition to this, he is the serving Asian Cricket Council President. The 35-year-old is said to be eyeing a bigger position and is on the verge of holding it.

As per the media reports Jay Shah might be the new ICC Chairman. Serving chairman Greg Barclay is all set to take a back step. His tenure ends in November and he is in no mood to contest another term. With no competition, Jay Shah is expected to have an easy election.

It is said that Jay Shah is having the support of a few Cricket Boards. As voting is held to elect the ICC President Jaya Shah might have an easy win. If this becomes true then Jay Shah would join the elite list of people who served as BCCI President and ICC president.

The last date to file the nominations for the ICC President post is the 27th of this month. Even if other people file the nominations Jay Shah is likely to get elected as one needs nine votes to become ICC President.

On the other hand, Jay Shah might be the youngest person to become the ICC president if everything goes well. Earlier Jagmohan Dalmiya and Sharad Pawar served as ICC Presidents. While Jagmohan Dalmiya served three years, Sharad Pawar served two years.
