The BRS party which fell to the opposition after the loss in elections in Telangana suffered a big blow with the arrest of Kavitha. The BRS chief’s daughter has been trying hard to get relief from the much-talked-about Liquor scam. It appears that Kavitha’s wait to get relief continues.
Kavitha was produced before the Court by the officials as her custody ended. In a shock to her, the Court extended her remand till the 18th of this month which is around two weeks. Yet again her remand was extended by the Court.
During the arguments, Kavitha’s lawyers are believed to have sought her bail in the case. However, the CBI’s lawyers countered the arguments saying that the charge sheet was filed already. With this, her remand was extended.
Kavitha was arrested by the ED back in May and she was sent to the Tihar Jail. She has been waging a legal battle to get the bail in the case. However, she is yet to get relief. Her bail petitions were rejected multiple times. Prior to her arrest, the ED officials questioned her a few times.
ED even alleged that Kavitha destroyed the evidence and a few phones were destroyed. Earlier ED said that giving bail to Kavitha would impact the case and she might influence the witnesses.
When she was already in the ED custody in the Tihar Jail, the CBI made a sudden arrest. After questioning her she was arrested. Kavitha moved the court asking how she could be arrested when she was already in ED custody. However, she did not get the relief.
