Will Kamal Haasan join hands with another party for the upcoming Lok Sabha for an alliance? This is the question many have. Media reports have been hinting at the same for some days. A few developments are adding fuel to the long-standing debate. It appears that we will get clarity on this soon.
Media reports are abuzz that Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam and the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu might join hands for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Amid this Kamal Haasan said that he would come up with a piece of good news on this in two days.
Speaking to the media at the airport Kamal Haasan said that he will come with good news. Talking about the Lok Sabha elections he reportedly said that efforts are underway for the preparations for the polls.
The political experts say that Kamal Haasan might announce the news on the alliance after having a word with DMK chief MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Once the talks give a positive outcome the same will be announced.
Both DMK and MNM share a few similarities. They are against the BJP and Narendra Modi. On many occasions, the parties opposed the decisions taken by the Union government. It is said that the same point played a key role in bringing them together.
When Udhayanidhi Stalin made controversial comments on Sanatana Dharma Kamal Haasan openly supported the Cabinet Minister. This might also be a signal for the alliance.
Another big thing is that if both parties join hands for alliance then they can strongly question the BJP in Parliament on many issues. They can also effectively stop the BJP from getting strong in Tamil Nadu. All these points are said to have played a role in this. We might hear a word on this soon.
It has to be mentioned here that Tamil Nadu's top star Vijay is entering politics and he will focus on the upcoming general elections. DMK might face a strong opponent in Vijay. By joining hands with Kamal Haasan, the ruling DMK might also have an edge.
