Wayanad Landslides: 27 Unidentified Victims Laid to Rest!

A mass burial ceremony was held for 27 unidentified victims of the recent landslides in Wayanad, Kerala, as recovery efforts continue in the region. This tragic event unfolded following multiple landslides triggered by heavy rainfall, which have claimed numerous lives and left many missing. The burial took place at the Pithumala burial ground, where local authorities and community members gathered to pay their respects to the deceased. The district administration has been actively involved in the identification and recovery process, with ongoing efforts to locate additional victims.

The search efforts are concentrated in the landslide-affected areas of Mundakkai and Chooralmala, where approximately 250 people are still unaccounted for. In addition to the recovery operations, the district is also focusing on the rehabilitation of survivors.
