After the YSRCP suffered a humiliating defeat in the elections the focus went on to the reasons behind this. There is a strong criticism that the decisions the government took on a few issues backfired which led to the defeat. The party which won 151 seats in the last elections was restricted to just 11 seats this time.
Out of all the decisions the YCP government took, the way it dealt with the film industry and the ticket prices grabbed everyone’s attention. In particular, there was an opinion that Pawan Kalyan’s films were targeted as a few officers were asked to see that the tickets are sold at the prescribed rates.
Many wanted to ask what was the need to go hard against the Film industry without any reason. YCP’s Kethireddy Venkatrami Reddy made crucial comments on this and said that the issue left a big impact.
The former MLA asked what’s the need to do that as those who want to watch movies would buy tickets in black too. Highlighting the point that no one asked for the ticket prices to be reduced and the government did this, he said it was of no use except for the issues with the film folks.
The YCP leader said that the public did not ask this but YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reduced the tickets to make the prices affordable for everyone. He said that the decision was a mistake as it had a negative impact.
When the YCP reduced the movie ticket prices by bringing special Government Orders there was a big criticism that there was no need to do that and instead of reducing the ticket fares the commodities prices could be reduced. Now the former MLA said that touching the issue was a mistake.
