Is Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy’s tryst with the BJP coming to an end? Is he planning to go back to the Congress Party and contest the elections from the LB Nagar constituency? Sources also reveal that he is all set to join the Congress party in the presence of Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday at New Delhi.

It is being said that the Congress party has not released its list in expectation of Rajagopal Reddy home-coming. He has reportedly been given the option of contesting either from Munugode, which he contested and lost in the recent bypoll or from the LB Nagar constituency, which abuts Narketpally region. Sources say that he has chosen to contest from LB Nagar as it has a considerable number of migrants from Pochampally,Narketpalli and Munugode.

The BJP, which probably got an inkling of Rajagopal Reddy’s latest moves, has not included his name in its first list. It did not announce any candidate for both Munugode and LB Nagar. If Rajagopal Reddy leaves, it will have to scout for a suitable candidate for Munugode. Party treasurer G Manohar Reddy had contested twice in the past from Munugode.

Sources say that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has negotiated a deal for the entry of Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy. This move will also help the Komatireddy family to strengthen their hold on the all-important Nalgonda district. The Congress has performed reasonably well in the Nalgonda district in both the 2014 and the 2018 elections. The Nalgonda MP seat too is held by Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
