Back in the day, couples used to live together only after getting married as this was the normal social standard that was established by the conventional section of the public. But things have been changed drastically in the recent past.

For the last decade, it is becoming extremely common to see young couples in live in relationships as they prefer to stay together in the same houses even before marriage. This became a standard practice after couples felt that they should check the compatibility of living together even before marriage so that they do not separate later.

With this culture, growing up in Metro cities and urban pockets, there were a lot of legal cases and Police complaints that were being launched as well. So the matter has reached the jurisdiction now as multiple states like Assam, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have issued strict regulations.

Madhya Pradesh has issued a new regulation where every couple must definitely register their live in relationship mandatorily. If they failed to do the same, they could be facing up to 3 months jail sentence in a trigger reaction.

On top of that, it is being established that once the live in relationship is broken, the lady is subject to receive alimony compensation from men. This is going to be one of the most shocking regulations as such activities were previously seen only during marriage processions, and it is being shifted to live in relationships as well.

At a time when so many young couple are referring to live together in urban pockets and cities, this new decision regarding the imposition of strict regulations could draw significant backlash.

But at the end of the day, even judicial bodies have been fighting with these scenarios for a long time now, and it was a matter of time before strict rules were put in place, and that is what is happening now.
