Badminton Duo’s Exit From Olympics: Coach Calls It Quits!

In what could be a big disappointment, the Badminton duo of India Satwik-Chirag had to exit. The duo which gave many memorable wins to India across the tournaments was eliminated. Rubbing salt to the wound Bollywood Actress’s husband who is the coach called it quits.

Mathias Boe, the coach, announced his retirement. Taking to social media he said that his days as the coach are over. He said that at last for now, he would not be the coach in India or any other place. Saying that he had a stressful job as a coach and he is tired.

Mathias Boe needs a special mention for the valuable contribution he made as the coach. Under his tenure, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy saw a big growth as players and their game also changed largely. His mentorship is the big force behind them winning the Asian Games title.

India did not have a glorious Men’s double event. But he changed the status quo and helped them grow. He is married recently to Actress Taapsee Pannu. Despite this, he spent a good time with the players with their coaching.

As the duo was eliminated the coach decided to take a back step as the coach. “For me, my coaching days end here, I’m not going to continue in India or anywhere else, for now at least. I have spent too much time in a badminton hall and it’s pretty stressful to be a coach, I’m a tired old man,” his post reads.
