A few dating scams were detected in which a few men were scammed and they were made to pay a big amount at the restaurants. In some instances, victims paid Rs 50000 and over 60 thousand. The trend is very concerning.
Youngsters use dating apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OKCupid, and others to meet people and make new friendships. The scammers target men saying that they are from Punjab or Chandigarh. Then the women take victims to selected restaurants and order costly items.
They target particular men and take them to the selected places. Then women order costly items making a heavy bail. Later women leave the place and men are forced to pay the money.
This is the new scam that was found recently. It is said that the scam was found at a few establishments due to the big bills. With this, the authorities are keeping a tab on such establishments to gather more details.
The issue came to light when a popular activist took to social media to share details. She said that one of her friends was also scammed and was made to pay over Rs 50000.
