Activism had picked up in India largely compared to earlier. The influence of other nations might have played a role in this. Some organisations and bodies fight for the rights of women and children. A few organisations fight for the rights of animals too. But do you know there is a party that works for Men’s rights?
Yes, you heard it right. There is a political party that was floated for Men's rights and fights for them. It is in the race for the elections too. The party is named MARD, a term that is used for men in Hindi.
A party named Mera Adhikar Rashtriya Dal (MARD) was floated back in 2009. The intention behind the party is to fight for men. A few men who faced issues with the Dowry Act and Domestic Violence Act came together to float the outfit.
The party is run by Kapil Mohan Choudhary who himself faced issues with the Act. He went through a tough time with a dowry case. After floating the party, they contested as many as seven elections including 2019 polls. The party is contesting from a few seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
However, the party could not open its account so far. Despite this, the party is contesting the Lok Sabha polls. The party said that it would consider both girls and boys equally and both will be educated if they come to power.
As an example of its ideology, MARD said that there is nothing called Feminism and it is an ideology to destroy families. In a post the family said this.
