Why Minister Payyavula Keshav Phone Called Gorantla?
All eyes are on the first Assembly sessions which are slated to take place later this month.
After a massive win, the new government led by Telugu Desam Party took charge in Andhra Pradesh. The oath ceremony was held grandly and the Cabinet Ministers were allocated their respective portfolios. All eyes are on the first Assembly sessions which are slated to take place later this month.
Ahead of this Cabinet Minister Payyavula Keshav called veteran TDP leader Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary and placed his request before him. It is said that the senior MLA said yes to the request Keshav made which paved the way for the oath-taking ceremony and other procedures.
Payyavula Keshav asked Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary to serve as the pro-tem speaker of the house to which he agreed. With this, he would take oath as the pro-tem speaker and the Governor would administer the oath.
As the Pro-tem speaker Gorantla will administer the oath of the members of the House who then elects the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. There is a reason behind selecting Gorantla for this. He won seven times as the MLA which makes him the senior leader after Chandrababu Naidu.
As per the procedure, the senior MLA in the House will be appointed as the Pro-tem speaker by the Governor so that the procedures can be continued like administering the oaths of MLAs and creating a space for electing Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
