The political picture is changing in India. After the first phase of elections, BJP’s election campaign took a new path. While no one knows what happened, BJP changed its strategies after the voting.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other key leaders in BJP made sensational comments on the Minorities. A few leaders said that Minorities reservations for Muslims would be scrapped. They targeted the Congress on this. This led to a Majority vs Minority debate.
It appears that the BJP wants to bank heavily on Hindutva in the campaign too. Narendra Modi-Amit Shah are saying that they would not implement the Muslim Reservations and talking about the UCC. Many say that these factors might influence the elections in AP.
There is a popular opinion that the Muslim Community doesn’t want the BJP to come to power at the Centre again. BJP is contesting six MP seats and other seats with the alliance. The Muslim Community is expected to vote against the BJP in the six seats.
TDP and Janasena are contesting in the remaining seats. The community is likely to take an anti-stand against the alliance in these seats. There is an opinion that no matter who wins, MPs of YCP and TDP-Janasena would support the BJP. In this scenario, the Minorities might support the Congress in AP. YS Sharmila is the Kadapa MP candidate from Congress.
There is a chance that Muslim Minorities vote to turn at her. A big debate is going on about this. Many say that the trend might struck to the MP seats only and the Mulsim community might vote for strong MP candidates like Kakinada( Ex-MP Pallam Raju), Guntur( JD Seelam), Tirupati(Chinta Mohan), Kadapa(YS Sharmila).
Political observers say that if this happens then it would be a big blow to TDP and YSRCP. Comparatively, YCP might be affected more. Minorities voted for the YCP in the past two elections. If the votes are split then YCP gets affected.
Many say that the more the BJP corners the Congress in the country, the more impact it would show in AP with YCP and TDP facing the heat. We have to wait and see whether the trend applies to only Muslim minorities or whether the same happens to SC, ST, and other communities.
