Election fever is going on in the country. A few states went for polling and a few states will go for the elections soon. In the wake of this, the election commission is taking all the measures to see that no unwanted scenes take place to hold the elections without any issues.
Elections and parties' steps to woo the voters go hand in hand. We have read stories about authorities seizing money that is being transported to be distributed. Together the seized money and other goods account for over Rs 1000 crore which is very huge.
The Election Commission of India said that over ₹1760 crores were seized from the poll-bound states. The seized items not only Compared to the previous elections, the amount seized increased by as many as sevenfold.
As part of the search operation, the election officers seized drugs, cash, liquor, and precious metals that are worth Rs 1760 crores in Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
Out of all the poll-bound states, Telangana is at the top with Rs 659.2 crore including Rs 225.25 crore cash. Rajasthan is in second place with Rs .650.7 crores followed by Madhya Pradesh ( Rs 323.72cr), Chhattisgarh(Rs 76.9 crore), and Mizoram( Rs 49.6 cr).
The Election Commission authorities are in touch with the local authorities and doing joint operations and searching the election vehicles and normal vehicles as well. With this, we are getting to hear the news that authorities are seizing money gold, and other freebies in the poll-bound states.
Out of all the five poll-bound states, elections were concluded in three states and two states will go to the polls soon. The numbers might pick up further by the time the elections in two other states will also end.
