Hyderabad NALSAR Students Stop Chief Justice: What's Happening!

It is an established fact that the position of the chief justice of India comes with the highest respect and regard in the Indian judicial system. The chief justice of the country is respected by all the judicial bodies and rightly so as well.

However, the latest developments regarding a section of students of one of the most respected law colleges in Hyderabad while they opposed the presence of chief Justice in their campus is grabbing the attention.

Apparently, a significant section of law students at the famous National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad, have urged the university to reconsider the invitation to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant as chief guest for its upcoming convocation.

The students in question here cited concerns over CJI’s reported remarks during a hearing on alleged police brutality on protesters at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

"We feel that receiving our degrees from a dignitary who is not bothered of serious allegations of police brutality against protesting students sits uncomfortably with what we have been taught” the students reportedly told their teachers and college administrators.

The fact that a group of students from a law college in Hyderabad have asked to reconsider the proposal to invite the chief justice of the country is as shocking as it can get.

Earlier, the chief Justice had coined the term cockroach while referring to a small section of the unemployed youth in the country, and this eventually became a cockroach party revolution. It has to be seen, what would be the reaction of the CJI to this matter now.
