If leaders are remembered and people have a special space for them even after their demise then it is an example that the leaders have an undying image and left a big legacy behind them. Only a few leaders will be blessed to enjoy such a stature.

Telugu Desam Party founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is surely among the leaders. It's been a few decades since he passed away, But he is still relevant in the political platform. Even Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi talks about him and his achievements.

Today is his death anniversary and on that occasion let us know why he stands tall as a great leader. A leader is someone who thinks about the future and takes decisions that help the people. This suits NTR well and the decisions he took are the proof.

TDP lent a helping hand to the BCs and groomed the leaders from the community. The BC leaders we see in the parties were once encouraged by the TDP. Right from the candidate selection to the Cabinet selection, the BCs were preferred.

To help the poor have food, he started a scheme to give rice for Rs 2 per kilo. Despite the lower price, quality rice was given to the people to feed them. Political observers say that no other scheme was brought again on par with that scheme.

The game-changer decision he took was to make a bill to provide equal rights for daughters in the properties. He introduced the Hindu Succession (Andhra Pradesh Amendment) Bill for this and helped daughters get equal rights.

NTR is among the very few Southern leaders who entered national politics and showed his mark. He led the opposition parties against the Congress party. He started his party against the Congress and he stood by the stand till the end, which is very rare in politics.
