Mayor Calls New York America's New Delhi!
The New York Major even equated the city to Indian Capital city Delhi. He said that New York City is like the New Delhi of America.
In the pursuit of better life and opportunities Indians often move to other countries. Not just migration they hold big positions across the sectors there making valuable contributions. This is the reason why the Indian community is respected in many countries and our occasions are celebrated there.
Earlier we have seen Diwali celebrations in the United States. The Independence Day celebrations were held in New York by the Indian Cultural Association of North America. Indian tricolour was hoisted on the occasion. New York Mayor Eric Adams was also present there.
He made some interesting comments on the valuable contributions the Indian community made. The Major said that members of the community are into business, health care and teaching which indicates their presence across the sectors.
I wish the community to see greater heights in their respective fields. India is the oldest democracy in the world and holding its flag makes me very happy the Mayor said.

On the occasion he also walked down the memory lane and recalled his memories of paying a visit to the Mahatma Gandhi Smriti in Delhi.
Earlier the Mayor took part in the Parade and expressed his happiness of being a part of it. Now he participated in the Independence day celebrations and hoisted the flag.
