The former United States Ambassador to the United Nations made some interesting comments on India and Russia ties. It is known that Russia waged a war against Ukraine and many nations including the US voted against the nation in the UN. They tried to make India vote against Russia, but that did not happen.
Nikki Haley talked about this and said that India was smart and given the current situation India did not trust America and it walked with Russia. She even said that India has no trust in America to be the big brother.
She went on to say that she dealt with India and Narendra Modi and India wants to be a partner with them. Despite this India has no trust in the US. By playing smart India is also maintaining good ties with Russia.
She also observed that India might think the US is weak and hence it might not have trust in US leadership. Nikki also mentioned about friendly nations to the US like India, Israel, Japan, Australia, and others, and said that there is a need to strengthen the ties with them so that they can get along with the US.
Nikki Haley also gave a big reason behind India's walking with Russia. She said that India gets the majority of military equipment from Russia and hence India is supporting Russia.
She showered praises on India for its billion-dollar stimulus to be less dependent on China. On the occasion, she also said that China has a few issues financially.
