According to police, the victim, Prashanth, had recently returned from the Gulf while his wife had been staying back here. Police said, his wife, Sandhya, plotted the murder because she believed he was an obstacle to her alleged extramarital relationship with Anil.

Police said Prashanth was first made to consume alcohol along with Venkata Sai alias Bunty who happens to be one of the other culprits in this case.

He was later taken to a hospital, where Sandhya allegedly injected Harpic toilet cleaner into his veins, resulting in his death. The shocking nature of this incident has literally perturbed everyone on social media and there are varied reactions on the same now.

During the investigation, Venkata Sai alias Bunty allegedly confessed to his role in the crime. Police have registered a case and remanded Sandhya, Anil, and Venkata Sai (Bunty) to judicial custody. The investigation is ongoing and further facts on the case will be out in the due course.
