An online dating scam was busted by the cops recently. While digging deeper into the case the investigating officers found shocking details and appeared before the media to share them. It is known that the Mosh Pub dating app scam created a sensation. Now the cops appeared before the media to reveal how the gang works and how they lure men into entering the pub and buying costly drinks. With the same style of operation, they scammed many people.
Madhapur DCP Vineeth and other officials spoke to the media and said that a batch from Maharashtra’s Nagpur ran the dating scam under which they lure men by using women. The women whom they hire take the targeted men into pubs and make huge bills.
The gang works in a way that makes women send messages to men on apps and ask them for a meeting. When men reach a particular place they take them to the targeted pubs and make big bills of thousands. Later the women slowly leaves the place.
As the items were ordered already they have to pay the amount. It is said that the gang earned Rs 40 lakhs. Later the money will be distributed among the gang members, women, and the owners of the establishments.
The cops said that the issue came to light when a few came out to complain. They urged people who lost money in such incidents to come out and complain. The gang gets in touch with women who are in job search and make them a part of this. They use them to target the men.
