The political heat in Telangana increased as the general elections are slated to commence this month. The major parties took the elections prestigiously and want to come to power. Be it the ruling party or the opposition parties they are confident of winning the polls.
Adding intensity to the election fever, the leaders are shifting sides. The aspirants who were denied tickets are joining the other parties. The sudden shift in loyalties can change the political equations in the state, say the political observers.
It's the turn of veteran Congressman Palvai Govardhan Reddy’s daughter Palvai Sravanti to shock the Congress party. The former Minister’s daughter is said to have resigned from the party. She is expected to take the ruling BRS route soon.
Palvai Sravanti contested the recent Munugode by-elections on a Congress seat. In the highly intense election fight, she came third. Since the election, she has not been active in the party activities.
She is among the aspirants who pinned high hopes on the tickets but were ignored. The equations in the constituency changed after former Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy came back to the Congress fold.
As he came back to the party he was given a ticket for the upcoming elections. With Raj Gopal Reddy coming into the picture, Palvai Sravanthi faced the shock and she was denied the ticket. This gave a big blow to the Congressman’s daughter.
With no option left, she is said to have resigned from the Congress party. It is said that she might take the BRS route and she might wear the party shawl soon.
